A unique tasting event
On Saturday 10 December 2011 The House of Gueuze organises in the pub 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst' (In the Insurance against Large Thirst) the 4th Day of the Lambic. The theme is the art of brewing lambic and the arts surrounding the lambic culture. In lambico artes.
Most people don't not know anymore what lambic is. Therefore, we want to put the oldest (still existing) beer in the world in the spotlight. Not that long ago, there were only beers of spontaneous fermentation. Lagers and high fermentation beers are of a much more recent date.
Lambic contains only four ingredients (wheat, barley, hops and water) and is the basic beer for the production of geuze, kriek and other spontaneous fermentation beers. 10 unblended lambics (joenk, old lambic, kriekenlambic,...) from different breweries will be presented. Lambic has become very rare in pubs. Therefore it is very unusual that one can taste so many genuine lambics in one place.
The tasting event starts at 3 p.m.
We hope to seeing you on 10th December in Eizeringen. If you want to take some lambic beers home with you, don't forget to place an order via www.thehouseofgueuze.be.
Gueuzy greetings,
Kurt & Yves Panneels
